Brynna Connolly, Grade 11
Mercy High School
Originally my parents argued about what was to become my name. Eventually, they learned to compromise, so, here I am today. The one thing that they did not know, I keep close to me: that in Irish Gaelic my name reflects the strength that lives inside me. I found out through a friend, you see, one who’s interested in Irish history. And, upon my Irish name she found, I’m exactly who I should be. Strength in every sense of the word, living beneath my skin. My values, muscles, mind and heart are all but hidden. But once you see me for who I am, you may question who you are. So, when you do, remember, you can always find an answer in the stars.
