“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
– William Arthur Ward, American Writer (1921-1994)
On behalf of all of us at One Earth Writing, we are genuinely thankful and elated by the amount of support we received during our first fundraising event, making this event the success that it was. It is truly remarkable to see so many faces come together to contribute and accept the community we are building, dedicated to changing the tenor of our communities by inspiring teens to understand that regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic origin, we can show that we have more in common than different.
In an age of bullying, gossip, slander and hatefulness (which can destroy a teenager’s self-identity), young people need other young people who can lift them up, encourage them and challenge them in all the right ways. Being able to offer teens close, healthy, supportive relationships is central to success and it’s because of committed members like you, we are able to continue our writing workshops that connect teens from different communities to build bridges of understanding. And since people need nurture to thrive, you’re also helping to create a healthier, happier planet for the 7 billion people who call it home.
One Earth Writing could not do what it does without the generous support of a caring community.
